Everything you need to know about logistics, packing, safety and booking a LUX week.
Logistics
You will book flights to fly into Buenos Aires, Argentina, and another one to Bariloche (we can assist with booking flights). You can arrive on the day the retreat starts and we will provide complimentary airport transfers on the first and last dates of the retreat. We are happy to provide pre-retreat hotel booking support so you can get picked up from the airport when you arrive.
All Lux Life Retreat packages include an 8-day / 7-night group retreat for women, with backcountry riding, avalanche awareness, cold water therapy, and fear management techniques. We also host yoga classes and meditation. Our retreat packages include accommodation, meals, wellness therapies, workshops, yoga sessions, and boat tours.
Shared or private rooms in a handpicked lodge, all meals prepared by a private chef, airport transfers on arrival and departure days, guiding, avalanche gear, yoga sessions and boat access where applicable.
Packing
Make sure you pack clothing that is warm and durable! A pre-trip packing list will be provided to you when you book. Key items: ski clothes, snow boots, mitts, and beanies, avalanche equipment and a big (at least 40L) backpack, yoga/gym wear, light pajamas, and personal toiletries. We provide bath and beach towels. Some really good sunglasses and sun protection are a must!
Yes. A transceiver, probe and shovel are required for backcountry weeks. If you don't have your own, we can help you rent a full kit ahead of the trip at a discounted rate.
Safety
Our activities are tailored to active women who typically spend a lot of time outside. Throughout the week we do boat access backcountry snowboarding, resort snowboarding, daily yoga sessions, and cold water exposure therapy. While we welcome all guests and personalize each experience, this isn't a relaxing holiday. We ask you to self-assess whether our retreat activities may suit you.
Every backcountry LUX week runs with IFMGA-certified mountain guides and a maximum of 6 to 8 women. Decisions in the field are made by people who actually know what they're doing.
Booking
Absolutely! Around 80% of our guests are solo travelers. Most of our guests make new friends, staying in touch long after their retreat finishes. Lux Week is an ideal place to come as a solo woman traveler.
We understand plans change. Full cancellation terms are shared at booking, with tiered refunds depending on how far in advance you cancel. We're always happy to talk through your situation.
Submit a booking request on any expedition page. A curator will confirm availability and walk you through the next steps within 24 hours.
